The Weekly Flail — October 19, 2024

OVERVIEW

Nothing has changed. Delusion rules and climate destruction remain the only assured realities. I wish it weren’t so. My point is to make sense of our reality and identify some of the delusions destroying us so they can be noted.

I’ve been accused, more than once, of maintaining hope of a technical salvation. As our technology is the one unique creation our civilization has produced, besides some art, I acknowledge that hope but heavily seasoned with salt.

The political debacle in the American Empire continues unabated with flourishes of absurdity. Thinking that the assassination of Yahya Sinwar will somehow end the genocide in Gaza or begin something else is already fading rapidly. Until the Zionist regime in Israel is brought to heel by denying them weapons, the war will escalate. We are still at the mercy of Iran to avoid the nuclear weapon destruction of Israel.

Any government that exists under the spell of the Abrahamic religions is a threat. Any other religion is also a threat until it stops being a religion. This makes the US election and its final two weeks a circus sideshow. I project that there will be no winners, only losers ranked by their insanity.
