OVERVIEW
Monday marks the end of the American Experiment. The USA’s current form will continue to stumble on as administrative chaos and climate disasters unfold. We will only lightly touch on the political details of the US decline here as they are relevant to the planet.
Many people see this as the dawn of a new Dark Age, but that is presumptuous. The Collapse of the Modern World in its American Empire form dates from the end of the 20th century. There will be fits and starts as surviving polities work to salvage what they can from existing knowledge and technology. There appears to be only a decade left before the collapse of the fossil fuel economy overwhelms Modernity.

Fires still rage as Washington plays political games. The cost of this is staggering. California must set the standards for these disasters in the face of promised federal failure.
