Winnowing the media

OVERVIEW

The past week has continued to be dominated in North American media by the replacement of Joe Biden by Vice President Kamala Harris on the 2024 ticket. As domestic American politics is not the focus here, there is little from general American media here.

The dominant media’s characteristic single issue/single variable nature means that wars and the pending climate collapse are pushed further to the fringe than normal. Reality refuses to follow the dictates of the American Empire, and not looking at things does not protect you from them.

As the drive for more wars continues to be the center of America’s international interests, I’ve begun breaking the WAR section into subsections. This now includes new potential conflicts illustrated by Venezuela, which has, again, failed to follow the American dictates to put the correct person in power. Needless to say, this is not simple with good guys and bad guys, but our focus here is on American manipulation that seems to be in opposition to the people of Venezuela. We will see how this plays out with assassination attempts and ‘assisted’ coups.
