The Paradigm Shift is Back

And this is the mother of them all

I’ve come to think that we can only see illusions now and have lost the ability to identify reality. This allows us to refuse all responsibility as truth or falsehood cannot be determined. Everyone is lying.

No need to think. Just follow along. Or not.

That’s for the best, but I refuse to accept it.

As I’ve said many times, our ability to understand the complex reality we have inadvertently created seems beyond our ken. By default, we think in dyadic forms, making quick assumptions that are either right or wrong.

The consequences leave us struggling with analysis, which most find exhausting if we even try. We prefer people to tell us the simple answer, and we can then blame them when it all goes to hell.

We are facing a major cultural paradigm shift, and whether we can survive it is unclear. Our dyadic thinking is no longer possible, even at an elementary social level. Much of our social confusion is unresolved because we struggle to impose linear simplicity on a world we have made nonlinear and complex.

Our scientific and theoretical physical models underwent this change with the birth of modern science four hundred years ago and again with the conversion from Newtonian to Einsteinian…
