The bills are due, and no one has a clue.

Welcome to the days after the last US election, which reelected a bankrupt, dysfunctional failure for reasons that most people have difficulty explaining. Perhaps a senile screech monkey captured attention better than a pleasant and intelligent woman? I really don’t think so.

Cultural collapse is the reason for this disaster, which is a hyperobject sized disaster. This answer does not help those looking for voter psychology and ways to correct the problem in the same way that we cannot handle the climate disaster, which was also completely ignored by all sides of this campaign.

I need to ask forgiveness from Timothy Horton, the philosopher who coined the term hyperobject to explain the incomprehensible size of the climate disaster, for stretching it to include cultural collapse as an aspect of climate collapse. We have also overshot our ability to make rational choices leaving ourselves totally fucked.

While the popular vote is still being tabulated, something like 20 million votes moved from Biden in 2020 to Trump in 2024. Really? The other option is that those Democratic voters took Tuesday off.
