Discussions of dementia, senility, and mental dysfunction are again inundating us. A little over a month ago, Biden had lost it in the first presidential debate. It is still an open question as to how frail Biden had become, particularly compared to Trump, with a long history of personality problems.
Biden made a tricky but logical move to bow out and hand off to Kamala Harris. Suddenly, Trump, long given a pass by the corporate media despite serious and worsening mental problems, was the only dysfunctional older man running. Trump’s preference to surround himself with stooges having similar personality defects and equally weak minds blew up immediately at the first debate with Kamala Harris. What was left of him was carted off the stage as the analysis, excuses, and blame games began.
As the Republican Party is gone and the Trump party has nothing but Trump, there are very few options available. Somehow, Trump needs to be cleaned, propped up, and kept away from anything but carefully rigged public appearances. Considering Trump to be anything like a regular candidate was a major disaster.
