Breaking Away: Changing Sides

Doing what needs to be done

It is time to move on. That should be obvious to everyone by now, and is to most people, except those who are hopelessly deluded. The best estimate is that contingent may represent as much as 30% of the population. So be it.

Many people are, as much as possible, ignoring the deluded remnants and establishing stronger ties to their own community, based on those who follow science, representative government, and forms of universal human rights.

There was a time when that would have unquestionably included the great majority of residents in the US and related modern countries. That is no longer the case.

The questions that haunt us are how this happened and what we do to fix things. That, unfortunately, is a rabbit hole with no exit.

There is an exit, but reaching it requires a major shift in how we perceive our world. Our world, the Modern Western World, is best understood as the North American Empire, and it is collapsing around us.

We have too many problems to grasp them all simultaneously. That, in itself, is a major problem that we need to solve before anything else. That requires a form of triage so that we do not waste time and energy on issues that cannot be saved.
