Bifurcation Failure

Our reality has bifurcated. Pretending that we still share a single, everyday reality is dangerous. We cannot act based on a shared reality. Continuing to attempt this will make it impossible to defend planetary civilization from the insanity that has infected a significant percentage of our population.

Extreme individual cases complicate the nature of this insanity. Just as combinations of diseases make diagnosis difficult for a particular case, people are confused by layers of insanity. We also struggle to distinguish between individual and group mental health issues.

For most people, identifying mental dysfunction in an individual is relatively simple, but if that individual is in a leadership role, things become difficult. It is generally agreed that a significant percentage of corporate executives exhibit psychopathic characteristics.

It is normal and appropriate for people in power-driven positions to be highly competitive. The lack of empathy and tendency toward brutality is accepted. I consider this a symptom of insanity that is now out of control and destroying human civilization.
