Automating leadership

The insurmountable problem is the requirement for state leadership. Homo sapiens are social animals who function in hierarchical groups and there is no instinctive understanding of a sovereign individual. We have, in different cultures, a romantic fascination with the asocial loner but that is a literary form. No one wants the reality of that for themselves.

It’s hard enough to get people to accept the responsibility of citizenship as a member of a sovereign state. We are currently struggling with the percentage of the population who prefer to grovel at the feet of a strongman when they feel insecure. Even when the strongman is demonstrably an idiot with no clue what he is doing and is surrounded by obvious incompetents and low level criminals, these folks offer themselves up.

As I’ve said repeatedly, you have the answer but it is leaderless. People need to be led even if it is to disaster.

We are coming to crux of the matter and have begun to discuss the preliminary concepts. These are UBI, direct democracy, and cryptocurrencies. Roughly laid out these provide all the elements that could produce individual sovereignty with individual planetary asset allocation tied to a completely decentralized fiat currency. I think that a more efficient version of ethereum as a blockchain system for asset management and contractual record with authentication could be the replacement for “government” as authority.

We will have to see if these things can actually come together in time to save us.
